Client Success Manager - start December/ January

Founded in July 2018, ActiveXchange is a fast-growing data and technology business based in Sydney providing market and business intelligence, managing data networks, and applying machine learning techniques to underpin the growth and impact of the Australian and New Zealand community sport, leisure, aquatic and fitness sector. This means more people more active more often because delivery and investment decisions are more informed and coordinated. 


In just under 18 months ActiveXchange has established a sector-wide network and service using data on 3 million participants to support positive change, working with federal, state and local government, over 30 state and national sport organisations, and 350+ leisure, fitness and aquatic venues. ActiveXchange has developed and continues to roll out a network of software accounts (SportsEye platform) so the sector can fully realise the value generated from data and information sharing, establishing an Australia and NZ sector-wide community sport investment and delivery eco-system.


We are now looking for a talented, energetic and organised Client Success Manager to join our team and play a key part of this journey, working in particular with leisure, aquatic and fitness partners across Australia and New Zealand.

The role

 We are looking for a Customer Success Manager who has a passion for community sport, leisure and aquatic sector and contributing to a more active and healthy nation who is very comfortable talking to clients and seeing through projects to completion.  The Customer Success Manager is responsible for a number of key areas such as; customer onboarding, account problem solving/ escalations, renewals, project management, periodic health checks and customer advocacy.

The Customer Success Manager will be required to see out a project from conception to final product and deliver against the client’s expectations, requiring good organisational skills and attention to detail. You will be working closely with the Exec Team, Product Manager and liaising with the wider Data Team on a daily basis.

Client Success Manager Responsibilities:

 - Onboard new customers through training, webinars and on-site sessions where applicable

- Periodic check ins with clients to ensure there is a clear ROI from the service

- Responsibility for the renewals of the client and making sure they have paid

- Completing projects for the clients by working with the data team and prioritising which project comes first.

- Identifying and overseeing any upgrade opportunities.

- Flagging any client issues with the exec team

- Support the business in keeping a 95%+ renewal rate

- Tracking projects in Asana & Salesforce

- Be an advocate for the customer and support the product manager in making changes which will benefit specific clients as well as all clients.

Client Success Manager Requirements:

  • Passion for community sport, leisure, aquatics and fitness and driving returns for our client partners while helping to shape more activity and healthy communities.
  • Strong interest in the role of data and business intelligence within industry.
  • Degree in Business/ equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 years industry experience in a client facing role (Sales, Client Services, Customer Success etc). 
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Experience with Asana or similar project management software would be preferential
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms 
  • Excellent verbal and presentation communication      skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Role type: Full time

Remuneration: $70,000-$80,000 OTE with significant growth opportunity from the outset  + super 

Location: Sydney Office (Surry Hills)

Holiday: 21 days + public holiday

Data Science/ Analyst (business intelligence expertise)

We're always looking for people that think in numbers and are passionate about understanding why people make decisions to become and remain active. Why they join and stay as members of a gym or leisure facility, or participate in certain sports. We are looking for someone that is keen to positively influence millions of lives.


You should be able to discover the 'story' that sits behind data, and identify patterns and trends - or possible trends that require further consideration. We're looking for someone who is excited about finding solutions that create successful organisations and businesses. 


You need to be exceptional with Excel and SQL databases and have excellent English. You should also have a knowledge of other database types and approaches to analysis, and have effective data processing techniques. This includes  experience in statistical analysis, using correlation, linear/multi-linear and non-linear regression, factor analysis, data extrapolation, interpolation and optimisation. 


A background in creating and working with big datasets and basic programming experience will also be very useful (ability to create and run database queries including a good grasp for SQL and Python). A relevant math/ data/ statistics/ economic/ programming degree or masters is required, and 1-2 years professional experience is preferred.

Role in our team

Initially the role will involve working with data to test hypothesis, presenting conclusions, then challenging these initial conclusions with the rest of the team. You will reach a level where you will be able to create the hypothesis yourself, appreciating how the community sport, leisure and physical activity sector is evolving, and play a key role in progressing the value we provide our partners. You will be at the forefront of progressing ever evolving predictive data models that support the analysis of high profile investment scenarios, and inform key decisions made by facility operators, local and federal government and national sport organisations.


We invest in each member of the team. A minimum $1,000 budget is allocated per team member for relevant professional development each year.

Role with our partners

To make sophisticated analysis appear straightforward, and conclusions useable and relevant. You will be required to develop relevant and actionable quantitive outputs requiring and strong data visualisation background, and have the ability to adapt to different contexts and changing circumstances, often at the last minute! Ultimately you'll be a team player - our data modelling is part of a collaboration which requires extensive logistical thinking and discussion.
